Mager Constructions has developed a tropical design, steel portal pole house, that is simple, cost efficient, easy to erect, and adaptable to all sites level or sloping. The system is engineered to withstand cyclone conditions. As Mager are builders and also steel fabricators they are ideally suited to this type of building.

We can work with alternative floor plans at generally no additional cost, providing the number of bedrooms, bathrooms and floor area stay the same. All houses are available as highset, which is often used for carparking, at an additional cost,

The poles are made from circular pipe, with a simple sleeve at the base to facilitate erection and provide bracing. For sloping sites the poles are simply lengthened to suit the slope. Mager is now offering a 7 year written corrosion guarantee - ask about our steel protection methods.

Steel poles are not subject to termite decay and provide excellent protection in accordance with Australian Standards. Poles can be finished in a variety of colours using two pack polyurethane paint which provides excellent protection.

Our standard width house is 9.4m wide by any length. Generally post spacing is between 3.5 to 4.5m along the length.

3 bedroom steel pole homes

The roof maybe curved, split skillion with highlight windows, a simple gable or a combination of skillion and curved, the options are numerous. Steel purlins span between the portals to provide the roof structure. Eaves may be exposed or lined. The roof pitch is generally 17 degrees.

As the poles and portals are erected first the roof is finished in the first week of the project, with the balance of work completed underneath. Because the roof is on first there are no stoppages in the wet so work can continue.

The wall framing is normally timber stud, and there are no restrictions on the type of floor finishes, polished timber, tiles. External cladding can be textured finish, colourbond, weatherboards or any of the 'James Hardie' claddings are recommended for their durability and minimal maintenance. Many others are also available to suit individual needs.

One of the main advantages is that all designs incorporate a cathedral ceiling as standard. That means that the ceiling slopes to suit the same pitch of the roof. The high roof is ideally suited to the tropical weather as the heat is kept at a high level.

The portal frame is available in a supply only form should other prospective builders be interested.

Mager has a display house open for inspection by appointment at Mission Beach,. All areas in the Far North and North Queensland area are currently serviced.

Steel poles are not subject to termite decay and provide excellent protection in accordance with Australian Standards. As the poles are hot-dip galvanised internally and externally they have a long lifespan with no maintenance required.
